Aérospatiale-BAC Concorde
1969 – 2003The zenith of civil supersonic luxury. Employed ogival delta wings, supercruising Rolls-Royce/Snecma Olympus 593 turbojets, and active fuselage thermal elongation during sustained Mach 2 transit.

The zenith of civil supersonic luxury. Employed ogival delta wings, supercruising Rolls-Royce/Snecma Olympus 593 turbojets, and active fuselage thermal elongation during sustained Mach 2 transit.
Engineered by Kelly Johnson's Skunk Works. Constructed with 93% titanium alloy, continuous continuous chine aerodynamics, and dual Pratt & Whitney J58 turbo-ramjets fueling Mach 3.3 velocity.
Designed by R.J. Mitchell. Famous for its aerodynamically purest elliptical wing, yielding minimum induced drag at high-G turns and powered by the 1,720 hp Rolls-Royce Merlin 66 supercharged engine.
State-of-the-art long-haul aerodynamics. Features adaptive wing morphing that adjusts camber continuously in-flight, paired with high-bypass Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 turbofans for 25% lower burn.
Side-by-side aerodynamic drag parameters, thrust-to-weight coefficients, and wing aspect ratio telemetry computed under ISA standard atmosphere.

A century of breakneck mechanical ambition, from Kitty Hawk sand dunes to hypersonic waveriders.
Transitioning from wood struts and cotton canvas to all-metal stressed-skin monocoques (Junkers J 1, Douglas DC-3). Pioneered air-cooled radials and variable-pitch propellers.
Axial turbojets, swept delta airfoils, and the Bell X-1 breaking Mach 1.0. Culminated in sustained Mach 3 reconnaissance (SR-71) and transatlantic luxury passenger supercruising (Concorde).
Carbon-fiber reinforced polymers, fly-by-wire digital flywheels, sustainable commercial overtures, and scramjet waveriders navigating boundary-layer heat envelopes at Mach 7+.
